200th Street/Golden Ears Bridge Project

  • On site from May 2006 to April 2007

  • Retained from the onset to address challenges initially presented by the test piles required for this megaproject

  • This was a complex treatment system with removal of toxic vinyl chloride. We used our patented technology to remove toxic organics while managing the DO (dissolved oxygen) for aquatics.
  • Ideal DO range is 7 to 12 mg/L
  • Bioreactor is liquid incineration technology with an automatic feedback system to control the DO of the water

Shangri-La Project (downtown Vancouver)

  • Retained by the developer
  • General Contractor: Ledcor
  • Retained when competitor did not satisfactorily address high discharge turbidity
  • Highest tower in Vancouver
  • 80, 000 cubic metres of material excavated

Olympic Village Project

  • On site from February 2007 to October 2008
  • General Contractor: Metrocan Construction
  • Retained from the onset to address challenges initially presented by soil conditions at this megaproject
  • Heavy metal concerns (over 100 years of industrial use), very fine till material
  • High profile environmentally sensitive site
  • Effluent water quality held to drinking water standards
  • Daily testing (including LC 50's)
  • No site downtime after system installation

Olympic Village Project

  • This project utilized new patent pending technology to remove toxic levels of surfactants
  • The site was a past practice site for ship building, painting and plating
  • The soils were hazardous by Environment Canada requiring secure disposal
  • System was designed to remove heavy metals, hydrocarbons, TSS and toxic organic compounds
  • Tested daily for all parameters to less than 0.01 ppm
  • Tested weekly on LC50 fish bioassay
  • Treatment Standards:
    • 8 NTV
    • 10 mg/L TSS
    • ND on metals
    • Passing LC 50
    • Treated water complied with City of Vancouver drinking water standards

Still Creek Drive (Slough Estates) at Willingdon Avenue

  • Retained from the onset to address challenges presented by the proximity to Still Creek coupled by the ground conditions (peat concerns and hog fuel contaminants)
